Caroline & Mahdi // Stable Cafe Wedding

I cried exactly three times at this wedding. M’s family couldn’t make it due to a certain travel ban but watching him beaming the entire day none the less and hugging every one of C’s family as if his own truly moved and inspired me. The second time was when Mariah Carey’s Always Be My Baby came on, and C’s entire family profoundly sang every word (you’ll know exactly which moment this is when you’re passing through these photos!) and all their guests joined in with arms around each other. Her mother singing to her father cradling his face and dedicating every word. It was such an incredible moment to be a part of. The third time I wept behind my lens was watching this couple on the dance floor, surrounded by so many people yet completely immersed and present with each other. They embraced each other like they were the only ones in that room and you will see that so very clearly too. They were the epitome of blissed out getting to dance with one another and I was so blissed out getting to witness it, I just couldn’t help feeling it all along with them.

This was one of the most emotional and love, joy, warmth filled day that I have ever photographed and witnessed. These two were incredibly present with me and their people and that’s all I can ask for . They let me in, they treated me like family, their family treated me like family, I do not take this privilege lightly of entering one of the most intimate and personal days in your story, so thank you for letting me in.

Savannah & Max // Sebastopol Backyard Wedding

Savannah & Max got married in the backyard of Savannah’s childhood home and once you scroll through, your jaw will be where mine was stepping onto their property - down to the floor. This backyard wedding set in the wondrous woods of Sebastopol was straight out of a daydream. Even more wondrous is these two. Savannah is exactly the energy she exudes, she is a sort of a womanly-human-goddess-hybrid who is humble, deeply compassionate, and so unbelievably thoughtful in the most intuitive ways. She is the type that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years even upon just meeting. The warmth and personal nature she surrounds you with is something I’ll never get enough of. And Max, oh Max. He is the type that would not only give you the food right off his own plate, but will also make sure that you know that you never need to be afraid to ask for it. He is strength yet softness, grounded, and takes care of his people. I’ve said this before and I will say it forever, I do not take the privilege of entering one of the most personal and intimate days in a couple’s lives lightly. And to be treated like family by this couple and their people on this very day is truly such a gift. I am just so happy these two found each other and so humbled and honored that I got to document a chapter in their story.

Enjoy.

Whitney & Lauren // Headlands Center for the Arts Wedding

Whitney & Lauren’s Summer wedding at the Headlands Center for the Arts was every bit artistic, filled with emotion and surrounded by affection. They had built a badass all female team with food goddess Katie Powers delivering the seasonal and local goods, Bewilder adorning with florals, and Heart of Gold on deck. I deeply enjoyed running around capturing every aspect of this day, as these two treated me like family as the rest of their people did. Those are the moments that I am stunned that I get to enter such an incredibly personal and truly long awaited day, to be let in to witness and document some of the most intimate aspects of their story and relationships with their people. I do not take this privilege lightly and am so humbled to have been trusted with documenting their bond and their evident friendship. I have never met a kinder and more exuberant and welcoming being like Lauren, just wait till you literally see those things in his very smile in these photographs! And I was instantly enamored by Whitney’s quiet nature at first glance and then she welcomes you right in to see that strong, intelligent, passionate and deep minded woman. Together, they are warm, so thoughtful and continuously uplifting and supportive of those they love. What a gift to feel that love.

Clare & Sean // Triple S Ranch Wedding // Calistoga Wedding Photographer

Triple S ranch was the perfect venue for Clare & Sean. Turning a wedding day into an entire weekend where their guests could stay in a charming cabin, spend time quality time with each other and running around the ranch, which honestly was my favorite part of shooting there. I felt like a kid again who had just gotten their first camera. Clare & Sean are so incredibly clever, goofy and down to earth. They had both treated me like an old friend where sarcasm was our first language and yet immensely trusting me to document them in their most habitual moments. I love that about them. That they are confident in who they are but also very harmlessly eccentric. And I don’t think they could have chosen a more perfect home to wed and person to marry for that very reason.

Before the wedding day I love asking my couples their favorite thing about the other person. I get to grow to adore my couples from the things I notice, but getting to hear what they see in each other is even more adoring. When I asked Clare what she loved most about Sean, she replied with “He's my ideal mix of serious and silly - he believes fiercely in the the things that matter to him and he isn't afraid to hold his ground in conversations, but he can also open up and be weird and stupid with me.” And when I asked Sean about his favorite thing about Clare, he replied with “Clare can hold her own on all fronts. She's smart, curious, self-sufficient, and doesn't tolerate fools. And she does all that with an amazing butt.”

I love it most when I’ve seen those qualities in them before even hearing their answers. Even her butt.

Everything felt organic, and loved, and supported. The day was filled with such dream light and charming interactions. I felt every bit of it and I know you will too.
